It's been a while, sorry

So we're not so good at the blogging.  Or the face booking.  Or the tweeting.  Well, here's try #2 for getting this right.  Today, May the 4th, we all went to the Wind Festival at Wildlife West Animal Preserve in Edgewater, just outside of Albuquerque.  It was a beautiful day, and it's a great place to visit (they only have animals that cannot live in the wild because of injury or tameness, or they are rehabbing them).  We met up with our friends Benjamin, Valerie and Kieran Larkin and had a really fun time flying kites.  This was Maddie and Marni's first time flying a kite.  And yes, that is a Star Wars kite -- May the 4th be with you.

Cameron turned a month old on Thursday, June 21.  He's been growing, growing, growing and spends more time than ever awake and looking around.  I'd forgotten how neat these early months are as you watch a child discover the world around them.  Here are some photos of Maddie and Cameron from the past couple of days.

Maddie Turns Two!!

Madelyn Joy Muenzler turned two years of age on Friday, June 15.  Two years ago this feisty little girl who is learning new words every day entered our lives, and it's been such a wonderful journey.  Marni and I love Maddie so much, and are so happy that she is sharing her life with us.

We celebrated Maddie's birthday by going to the zoo, and taking Cameron out for his first out-of-the-house trip (he slept most of the time, and was such a well-behaved young man).  We were fortunate enough to be joined by Maddie's Aunt Michelle, who stayed with us for a week to visit her niece and nephew and help us out.  Michelle, thank you so much for coming to Albuquerque -- your help was invaluable, and it was just awesome to see you again.  We all miss you!

We had a small party for Maddie complete with blueberry truffles (no eggs in those) with two candles in them.  Maddie really enjoys her Thomas the Train playset and her cottage playhouse.  Happy Birthday, Maddie!

Pool Party

Maddie has a very special friend named Piper.  They love spending time with each other, and they are both very similar -- fearless, fun-loving, happy and headstrong.  Here they are having a pool party at our house a few weeks ago.  Maddie loves her new bathing suit, and loves the water.  When I'm filling up the pool, she tries to stand in front of the hose, which explain why she is soaked through in the picture above.
