Madelyn -- 15 days old and gassy

So Madelyn is 15 days old, and stuggling with a nasty bout of gas and/or constipation. So Marni is foregoing the consumption of wheat, dairy and chocolate for today. Which isn't as easy as it sounds. Especially since we've been eating nothing but wheat, dairy and chocolate since we got home from the hospital (pizzas and pasta are SO easy to cook and eat when there's not a lot of time).

The hope is that Madelyn will return to her normal non-gassy state, and we can reintroduce wheat, dairy and chocolate in smaller portions to our diet. Wish us luck!

Here we have some pictures of Maddie at 15 days -- one where she is attempting to nurse on her mother's nose and a nice shot of her hobbit feet (those are definitely from me!)

Pics of Madelyn at 8 days old

Here are some more Madelyn pics. A few of her with her mother and father -- hopefully when we get some visitors out here, we can get some pics of all three of us together.

No more cord!

So the umbilical cord fell off at day 7. She still has a bad scab there, but hopefully that will pop off soon. Here are the first pictures of her belly button.

Madelyn Sleeping

For the first week, Madelyn slept, ate and pooped. Near the end of the first week, she did have some awake moments and seemed to be entranced by our faces (and the cats). Darth has decided he is her Lord Protector, and is always the first to arrive when she is crying.

Going Home Outfit

As first time parents, I don't think we understood the concept of the difference between newborn sizing and 0-3 months sizing. I mean, it says 0-3 months -- that includes 0, right? Apparently not, as we learned when we dressed Madelyn for her trip home.

Madelyn is here

Sorry for the late posting -- Madelyn was born on June 15 at 5:54 pm Mountain time. She was 6lb 12oz and 19" long. We had to spend an extra day in the hospital because Marni's labor went so fast the nurse didn't have time to hook up the penicillin IV. Here are the pics from her first day in the hospital.
